What is Osteoporosis?
It is a disease of the skeleton in which the amount of calcium present in the bones slowly decreases to the point where the bones become brittle and prone to fracture. This disease AFFECTS BOTH WOMEN AND MEN.

"How do I check if I have osteoporosis?"
Checking your bone density is a painless 5 minute procedure.  You do not even have to get undressed.

"Will you treat me or will my regular doctor?"
It is up to you to decide.  Either way we will send your regular doctor a copy with some basic recommendations.  If you wish to have a consultation with one of our specialists you may choose to do so or you can just come and get the scan done.

RTMC Osteoporosis Center has state of the art equipment to diagnose and monitor your osteoporosis as well as the expertise to treat it.  Our doctors are experts on advising you on prevention of this potentially crippling disease.  In later stage  osteoporosis they can also help you with the latest medications, physical therapy techniques, and even herbal or complementary therapies.

We are one of few places that offer both Aridia (Pamidronate) and Zometa (Zolendronic Acid) on-site infusions for osteoporosis treatment.  These are both  intravenous (IV) medication used for osteoporosis patients that cannot tolerate the oral medications or who want less often dosing regimens.  These infusions can be given as seldom as 6 months apart and their cost can be equivalent or less than their oral counterparts.

For more information on Aridia and Zometa, please see Infusion Center link.
